Jimmy - I’m watching the Tennessee/Alabama game (3-1-25) listening to you and Dick Vitale. I thought of you and your awesome Dad. He was a special guy. I loved talking to him when he was trying to help us recruit players at App State! He was a rock star!

Kyle Kimel here - I'm the guy that sold you the scooter. I just wanted to send a note of condolences on your father's passing. I only knew him fleetingly, but long enough to tell that he was a wonderful man. As you are likely aware, your dad and I exchanged quite a few text messages and spoke by phone several times in the course of the scooter negotiations (on which he got the better of me - Haha). He was always a complete gentleman - we seemed to have a really nice bond. I often got a kick out his text messages, as each statement was followed by an exclamation point. He would often end his messages by saying that he and I are friends forever - I can assure you that I take that to heart. May your many fond memories of his time in your life help you and your family through this difficult time. You can rest assured that he is in the right place, resting comfortably, and blessing others with his supreme grace and class.

P.S. The financial advisor where I work lives in the neighborhood next to Springdale Country Club. He said that he saw you and a young lady (daughter or granddaughter likely) riding through the neighborhood on several occasions - so I guess you are getting some pleasure from the scooter - I sure hope so!

Jimmy, we are not able to come today but want to express our love for your dad. He was influential in our lives in many ways, not the least of which was finding and selling us the land where we put down roots and built our family home. Joe T, Martha and Finley join me in thanking you, your dad and your whole family for investing in us over the years. We love you all and are sorrowing with you over BW’s death. It was always a joy to see and visit with BW. He always had something positive and uplifting to say. He always wanted the best for the boys and was always ready to help with whatever sports endeaver was going on at the time. I remember BW always being concerned when the boys were hurt and he would reach out to check on them. He just really cared about them. We need more people like BW in this world. I know he is enjoying his reward in heaven now and I'm happy for him and hate that he had to suffer so with that horrible cancer while still here. I envision him and my dad talking in heaven about the good ol' days when #2 was throwing to #4 and the result was almost always 6 points!
I wish all the family the strength to get past the pain of loss. Our prayers are with you all.

BW was one of a kind. He left a shinning, bright light where ever he went. His steadfast faith and love of the Lord never went unnoticed. He would always greet you with such warmth and an unmistakable smile that left you feeling like you mattered. I was lucky enough to know BW back in my Shiloh HS days and will never forget the connections that he made with all of the students. BW, you will be greatly missed by all that have known and loved you. Thank you for the legacy you have left behind.
