I found out today that Herman passed away. We were once friends. I always thought the world of him, and I admired his confidence and forthrightness. He spoke the truth as you believed it to be, and he did so with a confidence that I envied. We didn't always agree on what was true, but I truly respected him.

Herman, you sir, were a good friend to me in one of the lowest times of my life. May Holy God bless your family and take care of them. You, sir, are missed.
