To the Family of Loren Green:
My name is Michael Cutler and I was an onion supplier to Sam's Club during the time Loren was the onion buyer.
Loren and I spoke almost daily for many years. After Loren moved to other commodities, he stayed in touch, and always recommended me to buyers when they took over the onion category. I had many meetings with him in Bentonville. Whenever we were at PMA conventions at the same time, we always got together to talk for a few minutes. Loren was always a gentleman and respectful. He always thanked me for doing a great job for Sam's Club.
The last time we met, Loren told me he was struggling with cancer. He told me he was putting up a fight, but wasn't sure how things were going to work out.
I called Loren a little over a month ago to say hello and was told he retired.
Last Thursday May 4, I requested to be Loren's friend on Facebook and he immediately accepted. I sent him an instant message:
Me: How are you doing, Loren?
Loren: Getting by struggling with the medication for the cancer.
Me: I think about you a lot. Hope the medication makes you all better. I will add you on my prayers. Good luck!
Loren: Thanks
That was last Thursday. On Sunday I heard that Loren passed. It me like a punch in the stomach. So soon after we reconnected!
I want to send my condolences to all the members of Loren's family and to his friends.
May Loren Green rest in peace. What a fine man!
