JR and I worked together on the Little Rock Church Food Bank. He also lent his expertise when I wanted a handgun for protection. He let me try a few of his handguns to get an idea of the type I would want to purchase. He also was kind enough to show me a review of a gun in American Rifleman which was the one I eventually purchased.
I was very lucky to call Lowell my friend. We travel out West, hiked all over the state, and attended church together; but simplest of all, we were just good neighbors. He looked out for my family and meant the world to us. We’ve missed him greatly and will continue to do so. We need a lot more of JR’s in the world. I’m doing my best to emulate his normal. A terrific man.
JR and I were classmates from K-12. Great guy. Some of my fondest memories during junior high and senior high years were the times he, Pop, Marvin, Chief, and I would drive to the movies in Clarendon. Strong and lasting friendships were built during those trips. I bet he and Pop are talking about those trips now.

What a great guy. Worked with him for over 20 years at the FBI. He generally worked the night shift often by himself. Had a vast knowledge of how to handle most anything that might come up. Friendly, unassuming, compassionate, considerate, competent, hard working, dedicated. Pretty much the ideal employee. I'm not aware that he ever complained about anything or anyone. Always trying to improve himself. Almost sounds to good to be true but that's how I knew him. Sorry for the family having to go through the struggle of Alzheimer's had to be even more difficult watching a person like JR decline. Henry Tuck
Kay, I'm so sorry to hear about Jr. and send my thoughts and prayers. I remember while our parents would play cards, we would all end up playing outside- I'm sure it was required by our moms and dads. Jr. had stilts and he could walk on them really well- impressing me as I was so much younger. I know you will miss your brother.

One of the nicest guys I can remember in our small community of Shiloh . He and his sister Karen rode the same bus and me and my twin sister Connie. Just wonderful people
So sorry to hear of Jr’s death. Prayers for all of you. Vicki Hartsell
