Mitsy was a treasure for Butterfield Trail Village! She experienced war like no one should, but Mitsy did not dwell on those memories and turned her energies to education and music. She was so gracious and kind! She loved playing the Dulcimer with friends at the village and events around Northwest Arkansas. It was an honor to know Mitsy and she will be missed!

Mitsy will long be remembered as the "dulcimer lady" who played for various events through the years at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History in Springdale, Arkansas. Visitors loved the music and appreciated Mitsy's talents and sweet personality. Her volunteerism was extraordinary. We miss her greatly and send our condolences to her family.

My wife, Shoko and I extend our deepest condolences on the passing of Mitsy. Each year when we visit from Japan to see our Arkansas “mom” at Butterfield, we often met Mitsy in the dining room or in the hallway for a chat. She left a war torn country to the land of plenty to begin a new life and cultural experiences. She taught at the U of A and we know just how fortunate were her students. God bless Mitsy!
