Please forgive me for failing to attend your Father's service. I remember him and your Mother so fondly. We had a great time growing up with your family. Your Dad was the best, a man other men should strive to be and your sweet Mother a woman all women want to be like.

What an amazing man Bob was! He was on this earth to definitely make it a better place in all his accomplishments!! So many talents he had that most never knew, including me! He touched and influenced so many lives. And if we can all do that with ours, we will have been successful! A life well-lived!! Rest in peace, Bob! God certainly has you in His arms!
Bob was a gentleman. In the South that is the highest compliment and folks know what stands for: gracious, courtly, gentle, kind, a man of his word. Bob was my banker when I was just a kid. When I graduated from Arkansas Tech I wanted to buy a brand new Ford Ranger pickup truck. I called Bob and he said, “John, just write them a check and whenever you get back to town we’ll get the paperwork done.”
As part of his lengthy time as a city councilman, he serv d when I was mayor. He served with integrity, foresight and a genuine desire to make decisions that would benefit our citizens. His quiet, well thought out opinions were highly respected by me and his fellow council members.
It was an honor to call Bob Goodwin my friend.

"Mr. Goodwin" as we called him in high school, was always so kind and welcoming to all of us when we'd show up to see Lisa and take over their living room! I'll never forget how exciting it was when he had earned his pilot's license and then offered to fly me back to college in Tulsa after spending a weekend in Rogers. It was my first time in a small plane and that experience of watching Mr. Goodwin and Lisa marvel at all the scenery and especially the beautiful sunset was a special memory that has stayed with me all these years. Lisa, so comforted to know that you were right there by his side early Tuesday morning holding your Daddy's hand for his ultimate, most spectacular flight.

So sorry to hear of your husband, daddy, granddaddy and great granddaddy passing! One of the gentlest, kindest men I have ever known from being the father of kids I played with as a child to a banker that helped me secure a loan to a co worker whom I greatly respected! A life well lived, he will be missed!
