William “Kip” Powers, age 82, of Rogers passed away Wednesday January 10, 2024, in Rogers. He was born May 6, 1941, in Bridgeport, Connecticut the son of William J. Powers, II and Ann Dirga Powers. He was preceded in death by his Read Obituary
I remember Kip fondly. I was outbid on a wooden bowl at one of the auctions at church. Kip could tell that I was sad I didn’t get the bowl. He made me a bowl. Receiving one of his bowls was special, but his kindness was more special. I still cherish the bowl and memory.

I was so saddened to learn of Kip’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with Kip for over thirty years at the Texaco Port Arthur Research Laboratories. Kip had a beautiful mind and a wonderful sense of humor. We had many interesting “lunch time” discussions throughout the years.
Kip shared his talents with the Golden Triangle Community by being active in so many organizations. Sylvia and I enjoyed socializing with Kip and Ann on several occasions and appreciated the many boat rides we shared. We also looked forward to receiving Kip’s annual reports via Christmas cards. He will be missed by so many of his friends.
Our condolences to Stephen and Michael and the entire Powers’ family. I was blessed to have Kip as a friend.

Kip was a giver. He was always there for me when I needed him. When my son Anthony was working on his Eagle Scout project, Kip worked with him to cut wood for bluebird houses which were installed around Lake Atalanta. He made a lasting impression on my son, for which I am grateful!
