I met Freddie on visit back home in Woodland California. He and Dennis Smyth was riding down Gibson Road and stopped to give my friend Danny Swett a bad time about his 1934 Ford Sedan. We all had a good laugh about Freddie trying to buy Dan’s sedan. I had a mishap with my 1937 Ford Sedan and need a trunk lid. After a few calls to my Hot Rod friends Freddie’s name came up and his phone number. Sure enough a couple of weeks later I got a call from Freddie saying his friend picked up one for me that was an OEM that was hanging in a shop for years! My husband and I made our first trip to Springdale to pickup the lid and meet Freddie and his precious wife Linda. They treated us to dinner and fellowship. The next day Freddie picked us up and took us around to some cars sites along with a tour of his shop. That was the start of a lasting friendship. We exchanged phone calls and did make a few more trips up his way. I’ll miss my friend, I learned so much from him and enjoyed our get togethers with him and Linda. He will definitely be missed but loved through all of the memories!
