Sorry to hear of Collis’ passing at this late date - he was an upper classmate and CHS Band member. I remember him as a very kind, quiet, nice guy as were his siblings.

I just found out about Collis's passing. What a great and happy man he was. His love of his family, his life's work & his car rebuilding hobby kept him busy through out his life. He was a pleasure to know. My thoughts are with Lois Marie and his daughters.
My sincere condones to the Geren family. I always enjoyed my work with Collins. He was a no-nonsense administrator who provided good answers and advice.
I was Dr. Geren’s first undergraduate honors research student. He spent a lot of one on one time with me, teaching about research back in 1978.He put the student first in all his endeavors.He made a difference for many of us.

Collis Geren was an amazing individual who enriched the lives of those around him. He made countless lives better, including mine, and I am certain all of the graduate students that he mentored and guided a better life. We will miss him greatly.
