David Emil Mashie Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

David Emil Mashie, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in Goshen, Arkansas. He was born March 3, 1950, in Lake Forest, Illinois to Emil and Betty Mashie. He is preceded in death by his parents. David first found Northwest Arkansas in the mid-1980s with his wife, Mary. They moved from Chicago to Goshen in 1988, raising three daughters on their farm. David devoted his Arkansas life to growing farm and rental properties, providing homes and opportunities for others to make their way, too. His experience in carpentry and contracting meant there was nothing he couldn't fix or build. He loved traveling the world, exploring outdoors, and riding his motorcycle. David was an avid baseball fan, settling for rooting for the Royals as the Cubs were just too far away. He was a strong man who worked hard, never afraid to figure out a problem. David’s rascally nature kept his friends and family laughing, even when they also rolled their eyes. Dave is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Loftus, of Goshen, Arkansas; daughters, Elizabeth Mashie of Goshen, Arkansas, Helen (Rafa) Rivera of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Emily (Luke) Jost of Fayetteville, Arkansas; sister, Nancy Sacino of Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandchildren, Matthew Gunsaulis and Corinne Jost; nephew, Chris (Andrea) Baltes of Longview, Texas; niece, Jennifer Baltes of St. Paul, Minnesota; and many cousins and friends. They all love and miss him very much. A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 19, 2022, from 2-4 PM at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Mass will be held Monday, June 20, 2022, at 10 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Donations in David’s honor can be made to Pagnozzi Parker Charities to help level the playing field for NWA youth in sports
