Hugh Ellis Wilson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Hugh Ellis Wilson, age 82, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, died on May 24, 2022, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center of Fayetteville. He was born on August 22, 1939, in Fayetteville, to Hugh Ellis Wilson and Mattie Belle McCormick Wilson. Hugh graduated from high school and joined the United States Army. He retired as a Master Sergeant from the Army in 1983 and moved back to Fayetteville. Hugh was the manager of the Elks Lodge in Fayetteville for over 20 years. He married Audrey Tollis on August 15, 2009, in Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Mattie Belle Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Audrey Wilson; children, Terri Marshall and husband Kerry of Hindsville, Arkansas, Steve Wilson and wife Linnie of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Scott Wilson and wife Robin of Yuma, Arizona, Dr. Jeff Strossner and wife Karen of Conway, Arkansas, Laura Pharis and husband Keith of Fayetteville; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; brother, Billy Joe Wilson and wife Bobbie Jo of Fayetteville; and sister, Anna Belle Glisson of Fayetteville. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2022, at Fayetteville National Cemetery, with Pastor Terry Gosnell officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2022, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
