Leonard Wayne Prejean

March 31, 1953 - March 12, 2021

Leonard Wayne Prejean, 67 of Bella Vista, Arkansas passed away March 12, 2021 in Bentonville, AR. He was born March 31, 1953 in Ville Platte, LA to R.L. Prejean and Gloria Belle (Fontenot) Prejean. Wayne has worked in the oil industry for many years, 15 of those years were with Pennzoil. As an entrepreneur, he later designed and manufactured his very own line of hunting tree stands and products under Non-Typical Outdoors, LLC. Wayne was a very skilled archer and has won many titles and awards in both indoor and outdoor Archery competitions. As an advocate for the sport, he had a passion for teaching anyone who wanted to learn the art and skills of Archery, especially children. Wayne was an avid Bowhunter and Golfer and enjoyed Bass Fishing. He will be greatly missed by his Labradors, Jade and Brie whom he trained to love duck hunting as much as he did. His family often referred to him as “The Dog and Child Whisperer” because dogs and children had a way of gravitating to him wherever he went. He loved being a dad and Papa and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Wayne was a kind and gentle man who never met a stranger, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Laura Prejean, one son, Rick Prejean and his wife Tammy of Ville Platte, LA, two daughters, Tobie Moran and husband James of Mamou, LA, Candace Varner and husband Jimmy of Centerton, AR, two sisters, Becky Fontenot and husband Danny and Christine Hudspeth and husband Roy both of Ville Platte, LA, two brothers, Michael Prejean and wife Mona of Houma, LA, Robert Prejean of Ville Platte, LA, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday March 16, 2021 with service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Hunt Chapel on the grounds of Pinnacle Memorial Gardens in Rogers, Arkansas.
