Louise L. Maringer, age 96, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021, at Katherine’s Place in Fayetteville. She was born June 14, 1924, in Marysville, Michigan, to Louis L. and Olga (Lothaire) Lambert. She is preceded in death by her lo Read Obituary
I am so sorry to hear of Louise’s passing and send my condolences to all her family. Louise was such a wonderful person and friend. She taught me how to weave and was very patient with me in her teaching. I loved and adored her. Louise loved to share about her life in Norway and I loved hearing her stories. Louise was instrumental in leading and keeping our Scandinavian group together as well. She will be missed greatly.
I am very sorry to hear of Louise’s passing. My heart goes out to her family. She was so talented and generous with her time until just a few years ago. She introduced me to tapestry weaving and was still an excellent teacher in her 90’s! We enjoyed many of her stories, including how she started weaving and her life in Norway and Norway’s cultural influences on her weaving. She had such a full and interesting life. I hold all her stories close and will enjoy my memories of Louise.

Aunt Louise was so much a part of my life. I will miss her so much. She knew that I always wanted to know about my dad, who passed away when I was 1. Uncle Bob was his brother, and she made sure that we heard stories about him and saw many wonderful pictures. She never forgot my birthday and sent me charms or a card for many years. She made sure I had the family history and wrote down everything she knew. She also made the most fun gifts out of re-used materials. I’m so glad for our visit in 2017, and will cherish every memory.
As I was watching the sweet video of Bob and Louise dancing it made me think of their wedding day. I was just a little girl at the time but old enough to recognize extraordinary when I saw it. They took my breath away. She was the most beautiful bride and he was the most handsome man I had ever seen. They looked like movie stars to me. I remember feeling like I was in the presence of the real Cinderella and the real prince. I can still see them on that day in my mind’s eye. Of course, as I grew up I realized that they really were extraordinary but it had nothing to do with their physical beauty and everything to do with who they were. Over the years I received so many thoughtful gifts of memorabilia and heartfelt letters from them both. So many good memories.

I was saddened to read of Louise's death in today's paper. I met Bob and Louise at the Springdale Senior Center, and found them to be a delightful couple. The stories they would tell of their travels were always interesting, and showed their zest for life. I was privileged to visit them in their home, and to go out to eat with them several times. My regret was that I lost track of where Louise was staying, and then with the pandemic starting, it seemed non-family visiting was a thing no longer allowed. May our Father in Heaven comfort the family in your time of loss, and give you peace. Rest in peace, Louise!

Louise was a member of our French conversation group. Her French was very good, and she was tolerant of those who were not as fluent. Her vigorous outlook on the world made a deep impresion on me. I looked forward to seeing her at events at the Shiloh Museum from time to time. In addition to her many activities, she found time to create beautiful needlework. I will cherish her memory.
