Phillip "Bud" Lee Kerr

April 28, 1932 - February 3, 2022

Phillip Lee “Bud” Kerr, age 89, passed away on February 3, 2022 from complications of COVID. He was born April 28, 1932. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bartus and Florence Kerr, and his wife Tommie Maxine Kerr. Bud was a retired Master Sergeant of the United States Army Reserve National Guard where he served for 34 years. The friendships he made during those years were held to this day. Bud and Maxine were owners of The Unique Antique Shop and co-owners of The Country Kitchen. He went on to become the Dietary Director of the White River Medical Center. After attempting to enjoy retirement, he went back to work at Sims Wholesale Food. He also refinished furniture and antique picture frames for many residents of Batesville. Bud served on many boards in Batesville, including the Batesville Housing Authority and the Woodlawn Nursing Home Board of Directors. He was very involved in civic and non-profit organizations. Bud was a lifelong member of The Central Avenue Methodist Church in Batesville where he held many committee titles over his years at the church. He is best known for the incredible dinners he planned and cooked for United Methodist Men’s Club along with a long list of shenanigans while doing so. Bud and Maxine enjoyed many years of playing golf, tennis, coaching baseball, and spending hours and many miles in search of the perfect antiques for their shop. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was very proud of his grandchildren and their accomplishments. He is survived by his son Tommy Lee Kerr, a daughter Melanie Ann Kerr, three grandchildren Phillip Andrew Kerr, Aaron Lee Kerr, Adam Phillip Kerr, a great-granddaughter, Alaina Kerr, a sister, Marie Ford, and her son, Dennis, and his beloved cat, Margie. A private family graveside will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Rogers. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in loving memory of Bud Kerr to Lifeline of Northwest Arkansas Sponsorship Fund, 810 NW 7th Street, Bentonville, AR 72712
