My family loved Dr. Lowder, his kindness, sweet notes during times of difficulty, continued encouragement, stories about any number of things on any given visit. He was a very special man. Our standing joke was that you should be careful what you pray for as I had prayed for braces as a teen that were not to be. I did, however, get to pay for three sets for my sons. Our world lost some of its magic with his passing. Rest in Peace for you were the best.
I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Lowder's passing. I had been a patient since 2002. God led me to this wonderful man who helped me more than any other doctor was able to. I am actually able to chew fairly normally because of the wisdom and compassion that the Lord blessed him with. I am looking forward to seeing him again in heaven.
I am in pain to hear the loss of Tom. He was a good friend back when I lived in Elkins and will be missed. My prayers are with the Family.
We just learned of Dr Lowder’s death. What a special person he was! I was referred to him with a TMJ condition and he helped me so much. We drove up from Hot Springs Village every few months to see him. He not only helped my TMJ, but always gave both my husband and I valuable health advice. I just heard the news! Dr. Lowder was my sons orthodontist. I am so saddned to hear of his passing! Dr. Lowder was the best, so kind and caring! We truly loved him. My condolences to his family, you all were blessed with a very sweet man! May he rest in peace!
I am just hearing about Dr. Lowder's passing. My dad, siblings, and husband all went to him for ortho care. When I went to him at the age of 18 or 19 to get my teeth fixed, I left with a job. I enjoyed being one of his chairside assistants. He was full of so much wisdom. We had recently started the process of taking our 4 kids to him. There will be a giant hole left without him here. Hopefully he will live on through all the people he guided.
I am lost for words at Dr Lowders passing. I am shocked and sad. I send prayers to Jay and the rest of the family. Dr Lowder was gifted physician and orthodontist. I am almost 52 years old and remember being in 1st grade and have my first headgear to correct my overbite. Dr Lowder encouraged me to be a good patient and had a wonderful way of inspiring and comforting me. He was one of the first people I felt that understood me as a person. He helped me have a lovely smile but even better, he was always kind and caring. Our community has lost a wonderful soul but I am certain he is putting a new headgear or palette expander on the Lord. Knowing him was a blessing.
Dr. Lowder was truly a special person. He always made me feel special. He was such a warm and gentle person. Just recently, I was having to see him again. I couldn’t believe I was so lucky to have him as an orthodontist again as an adult. I was humbled when he called me to make sure I had made my follow up appointments with the sleep study. So thoughtful.
I also really appreciated his appetite for life. He was always learning and sharing.
I’m so sad that he was suddenly taken from us, but am so thankful I got to spend a little time with him again.
Dear Marti, I was shocked and saddened when I heard the news of Dr Lowder passing. He was an amazing mentor to me. He taught me several valuable things in dentistry which I practice daily and have brought healing to many of my patients. I will be forever grateful. He loved his profession however you were his hero. In our interactions, he always talked about you. He also delighted in the Lord and in His creation. Now he is enjoying Him fully.
