Benny was one of a kind. Will miss him heaps.
Benny was so much fun to talk to, listen to or just be in the company of. His witty stories and antics will be talked about for a long, long time. Fortunately, I have many of them to recall. Our gang had so much fun "back in the day" before scattering around the country. Funny how many of us have made our way back to NW Ark and, not surprisingly, found our favorite friend entertaining Fayetteville. Karen, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your children. If you ever need anything, or someone to talk to I'm available for you. And Benny, give Jeff a big hug for me.
I don't make it back to Fayetteville often, but I had dinner at Hermans, with my dear friend Annette, the last time I was in town for a football game. Benny was so full of life and proud to show off Hermans to me. It was great to see TK and Benny in that scenerio vs. the last visit with them at Jeff Jacobs' funeral.
Benny, Bubba, and Jeff - you are missed by many and Benny, I am so sorry for the tragedy and circumstances around your death.
Karen and family, I wish you God Speed and may the grace of God comfort you now in your time of serious need.
Perhaps they should rename Herman's - "Benny's".
"Happy Trail's to you, until we meet again."
Benny, You always knew how to make someone smile!! Thanks for all the love and laughter you brought into our lives. Our hearts our filled with joy knowing that you are at peace in heaven. To the family, let God's loving arms surround and comfort you during this time. You are in our prayers always...
J.T., my prayers and so many thoughts have been with you over the last week. Hang in there and take care of the family. Come to Texas when you can. Love you very much.

Words cannot even come close to express how much respect, love and admiration I felt for Benny Spears. My son, John Tyler Crawley loved Benny Spears like he was his own father. When Heather died, Benny took JT under his wing and gave JT the positive male influence that JT needed when he lost Heather. JT's life will be better for having Benny Spears love given to him when he needed it the most.
We can't wait to get to heaven to see Heather & Benny and all my loved ones.
Karen, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your children. Some of my favorite times in Fayetteville were had because of Benny. I really did enjoy being around him and he always made me feel right at home when I was in town. You both are beautiful people and I know that Benny will be deeply missed by all who were lucky to have met such an amazing person. I do miss you guys and will be thinking of you in this very difficult time.
God bless you and your family,
Tricia.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you Karen, Matt, Sarah and Hannah.
KNOW that you are missed by more people than you would ever have believed. See you behind those pearly gates - playin and singin.

I met Benny while attending the UofA in the late 70s. I have maintained a friendship with him for many years and visit Hermans and speak with him several times/year as my family travels back to Fayetteville to visit family and attend games.
Among all my friends, he was the one person I could always count on to tell a funny story, or recall an amusing event from our college days. He always had a good attitude and was very engaging.
I'm really going to miss Benny.
