John said it so well! She, too, welcomed me in from the first moment we met and was never anything but gracious, kind, and welcoming to me throughout the years! From letting Jen and I play in her make-up samples to making lunch for us on our high school lunch break, she was always so kind and so giving. I never understood how she did it all and still managed to look so beautiful and have such style. She will be missed but has left her wonderful family to carry on her legacy. She's in the hearts of all she touched!
My blended Garton/Johnson/Cox/Simmons/Gwin/Langham family first came together about twelve and a half years ago when my now father-in-law Brett Garton married Julie. I remember as a college senior being at their home wedding, meeting a ton of my future family for the first time, and feeling a little overwhelmed. Christine Johnson (who I also hardly knew at the time) sensing that, came over and struck up some friendly conversation. It was an act of kindness and grace, the first of many. Christine made me feel like I had always been a part of her family. She showed my wife Sarah and me the warm love of a grandmother, and when we had children she became Nanny to our two girls, Lillian and Rebekah. There was no trial period for us; her love was unconditional from the very start, it's just who she was. We have always had an open invitation to she and Lewis Hot Johnson's home and they've welcomed us with open arms. I am truly thankful that I was able to be her family, if only for a short period of time. I am thankful for her example and for the values she passed on. Those values will now be a part of my children's lives as they grow up with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Christine's impact will live on in our lives, and for that I am truly grateful.

She was a such a treasure. You were blessed, and my heart breaks for you in your loss. You are all in my prayers.
Julie, What a precious Mother you had! I remember her always being there and always being so kind to everyone! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
I am devastated.I can think of no other person who cheered me up as Christine did. Every time I saw her, I rejoiced. She was an unfailing fount of sweet kindness and wry humor at the same time a completely unique combination.I loved and admired her. I found her completely inspiring, her beauty, her style, the way she cared for the well-being of all, whether for Hot or little Daphne or me or herself, as she was doing right up to the very end.I cherish her memory. She made life more worth living. At the moment it's just too sad to think she's gone. I can only hope that all of us who grieve find some comfort in having enjoyed her while she was here with us.
I'm very sorry for your family's loss.
Julie and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother was always so sweet to me. I will never forget her. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
So sorry for your loss! Prayers for your family!
