A sad day for so many students who were deeply inspired by Mr. Helms. He was a very special teacher, allowing students to explore their own minds and interests. I am sure his influences go beyond what he was aware, but he will never ever be forgotten.
How wonderful it was to work with Don at Bates. The children loved him and he always had a smile and a sparkle in his eyes. See you soon on the otherside. Comfort for Don's family. I know he will be missed.
