KC with the heart as wide as the Gulf of Mexico! He looked forward to getting to his Yucatan home: visiting the tierra, the playa, distributing gifts to the poor at Christmas, always thinking of others, .....truly an inspiring person with a visible halo. Dance, sing, and laugh for all of us on this dimension, KC. We love you.
CAYCE, I REMEMBER ALL THE DELICIOUS SUPPERS WE COOKED TOGETHER. FLICKA AND I LOVE YOU, CAYCE!
What I remember best about K.C. is his love of kids....whenever I would bring my older daughter to the job when she was a baby, if K.C. got hold of her I knew I would have to go hunting to get her back. He also had a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.....
K.C. was a sweet, dear man. I was a friend-of-a-friend during my teenage years meeting him and Su here and there at the Hargrave's home. Then I became a friend of his at Johnson County MHMR. My fondest memory of him was when I brought my daughter at 4 days old to come visit all my co-workers there at JCMHMR. I believe he was the second person that got a hold of her and wouldn't let go of her. I remember he asked if he could take off her little shoes and socks because he loved to play with baby's feet. He was so kind. May he be a guardian angel for Su and all that loved him.

My dearest KC...
I walk up to your lab and it seems so empty.
Someone asks me a question and I don't know how to answer... "It was something that K.C. did..."
I miss you my friend.
I WORKED AT JCMHMR FOR ALMOST 10 YEARS. I HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF KNOWING AND WORKING WITH KC. HE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND I LEARNED ALOT FROM TALKING WITH HIM. HE WAS ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP ME WHEN I NEEDED IT. HE WAS A VERY SWEET PERSON.
there are lots of funny stories to tell about kc. su, kc, and i used to ride bikes all over johnson county. i always teased him (not really teased) because i loved to ride behind him to look at his calves. he had perfect calf muscles. anyway, it was just something we did! he made meredith (my 9-year-old) a blanket when she was born. she loves it and she said she was gonna keep the blanket forever.
When I started at the UofA, I was in a very difficult period of my life, having just lost a high paying job and struggling (working part time on University Pay) to support a family. I did not know anyone at the UofA and KC was the one that really made me feel part of the team. He went out of his way to get to know me and what I was about and had MANY encouraging words for me that were a help during the hard times my family went through.
KC will definitely be missed, and I will always hold a special place in my heart for him.
My thoughts and most importantly, My Prayers are with you, his family.
Even though I've only known K.C. for a short time, the memory of his smile and quiet enthusiasm will stay with me. He was always supportive during my training and I'm thankful for the support and helpfulness he provided. Few people could provoke so many fond memories in such a short time. We'll miss you, K.C.
