January 28, 2016 getting out of the hospitals seeing Shirley the obirtuary concerning her as a reminder of a most beautiful il and a very special sister. God I thank for my beloved sister. Tara and I were deeply saddened to hear of Shirley's passing. I remember her as a wonderfully vibrant, outgoing woman. I can still see her serving up delicious food and the Hawaiin Punch at the family dinners that we used to share. We would like to express our sincere condolences to you and your family.

Shirley was one of the bright teaching stars of Root Elementary. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word. After retirement I would see her briskly walking around your neighborhood. She was a wonderful lady who will be missed. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
Shirley Walker touched so many lives with her love of teaching, and gentle southern charm. It seems like yesterday, but it's been 15 years since my kiddos roamed the halls of Root Elementary and her wonderful classroom. She was one of their favorite teachers! I will miss seeing her smiling face on her neighborhood walks. Rest in peace lovely lady, rest in peace.
I worked with Shirley at Root School. She was kind and worked so hard for her students. Peace be with the family at this difficult time.
I am so, so sad to hear of Mrs. Walker's passing. I have so many wonderful memories of being in her class for 3rd and 4th grades! We did so many fun crafts! I will always remember her love for rabbits and the beautiful flowers in her yard. Still today, we drive by every week on our way to our daughter's dance class and remember how it was always decorated. We will really miss you, Mrs. Walker.
