Our story
For over a century, the Berna family and its affiliated funeral homes have served Northwest Arkansas with care, compassion, and deep local roots. It began with Moore’s Chapel, established in 1889 as Fayetteville’s first funeral home. In 2002, Nelson-Berna Funeral Home was founded by Johnie and Teresa Berna, continuing a family legacy of personal, family-owned service that reflects the values of the communities we serve.
Since then, the Berna name has grown to include locations in Fayetteville, Rogers, and Bentonville, along with Fairview Memorial Gardens, a serene and beautifully maintained cemetery in Fayetteville. Though our facilities have evolved over time, our mission has remained the same: to guide families through life’s most difficult moments with kindness, expertise, and respect.
As a locally owned and operated funeral home group, we’re proud to stand alongside the families of Northwest Arkansas — offering personalized funeral, cremation, and memorial services that truly honor each life lived.
