Laura Mae Stout Breshears passed into the loving arms of God, Wednesday April 7, 2021. Laura was born June 17th, 1942 in rural Fayetteville. She was preceded in death by her father, John Henry Stout; her mother, Ruth Imogene Stout Read Obituary
In 1967, Laura left across the street from me at Florence Park Apartments in Tulsa Oklahoma. We decided to go to Hawaii since she worked for shell oil company and I work for Amoco. We have remained friends all these years and I spoke to her in September 2020 regarding losing another friend from years past. I did not know Laura had medical problems. It was a great shock to me to hear this. I know everyone loved Laura as I did. She will be so missed. I know she is in heaven.
Jerry, first I am so very sorry for your loss of your dear Laura! My prayers go out to you and your family and friends who are grieving her great loss!
Laura and I were 2 of the 3 women in Accounting who earned our degrees from the University of Arkansas in 1964. She went to work for Shell in Tulsa from college. When I was hired for my first job in Tulsa that summer, I moved in with her. We were roomies from then until Danny and I got married in March 1968! She was my Maid of Honor at our wedding! She was the best roommate anyone could have had! Needless to say, we made many happy memories together!
Several years ago we met again at the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport for a brief visit before I took my plane back to Houston. I think you were on the golf course that day. Sadly, that's the last time we saw each other. Hopefully, some day I will find pictures from our visit!
I wish I could be there with you during this time, but I will be with you in spirit!
Continuing Prayers for Y'all!
With Love!
Mary (Zimpel) Smith
I will always love you, Laura. You have had such a positive impact on my life. I will never forget your unflinching kindness, the beauty of your soul, and your excellent blueberry pies that you would bake just for me. Jerry, I love you very much. I'm always here. I'm always up for a game of cards. I love you both. I'm so very sorry. All my love, Lori Kelley
We have lost a true lady in the passing of Laura Breshears. Rest In Peace
