Laura Mae Stout Breshears' Obituary
Laura Mae Stout Breshears passed into the loving arms of God, Wednesday April 7, 2021.
Laura was born June 17th, 1942 in rural Fayetteville. She was preceded in death by her father, John Henry Stout; her mother, Ruth Imogene Stout; and brother, Cary Don Stout.
Laura is survived by her husband Jerry of Rogers, AR; brother Gary (Jan) of Minto, ND; nieces Leslie James (Fargo, ND), Christie Shumpert (Summerville, SC), Elizabeth Mackivitch (Danville, VA) and nephews Cary Stout (Summerville, SC) and Jonathan Stout (Stillwater, OK).
Laura was member of the graduating class of 1960 at Fayetteville High School, Fayetteville, AR; and the 1964 graduating class of the University of Arkansas.
After graduation, Laura went to work for Shell Oil Company in Tulsa, OK. In 1974 she was promoted and transferred to Shell’s corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas, where she met Jerry.
Laura and Jerry were married Valentine’s Day/Sweethearts Day in 1975 and began a 46 year journey of love, honor, and respect. Laura was his life, his love, his inspiration and rock. They travelled the world together and with each passing day, grew stronger together.
Family and friends were Laura’s greatest passion. She always wanted to do for others. As a nephew said, “she had the biggest warmest heart and smile”.
A viewing for family and friends will be held 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday April 12 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home, 2898 West Walnut, Rogers, AR.
A private graveside service for the family will be held Tuesday April 13. Interment will be at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens, 5930 S. Wallis Road, Rogers, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice, 1201 NE Legacy Parkway, Bentonville, Arkansas 72712.
