For Ed's friends who may not know, he was a big part of the early success of a charity called The Legacy Guild. The Legacy Guild was organized to provide mentoring and scholarships to kids in our school district in the La Grange area who had lost a parent. Ed helped organize many of our fundraisers, taking on thankless tasks that made our events successful. Because of his hard work, he helped to get the Legacy Guild out of its early years and paved the way for our continued success today. The Legacy Guild has impacted many lives and has awarded scholarships of more than $2.2 million to 260 Legacy Guild Scholars. In addition to Scholarship and Mentorship, the Legacy Guild fosters Fellowship. Getting to know Ed through the Legacy Guild was a great privilege and one of the joys of being involved in the Legacy Guild. I hope Ed knew his impact on our community and his fellow Guild brothers. An impact that echoed long after he moved away. I will miss him, as will all his brothers from the Guild. When we next gather, and we raise a glass and make our toast “To the Guild,” we will be thinking of Ed and remembering him fondly. -- Andrew James, President of The Legacy Guild
