Adolph P. Tauchas' Obituary
Adolph P. Tauchas, 87 of Springdale died on August 4th at Springdale Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born September 15th, 1917 in Waukegan, IL to Anton and Frances Tauchas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Melba Tauchas, brother Anton Tauchas, Jr. and sister, Lucy Martin.
He is survived by his five children; Phillip Tauchas and his wife Barbara of Springdale, Tom Tauchas and his wife Georgia of Port Townsend, WA, Paul Tauchas of Honolulu, HI, John Tauchas of Honolulu, HI and Jeanette Richardson and her husband Cary of Fayetteville; His sister Helen Kusmickus of Waukegan, IL, 7 grand children and 3 great grand children.
Adolph was a loyal husband, father and friend, a devout Catholic and avid golfer. He left Waukegan in 1939 and attended Compton College on a golf scholarship. He married Melba, the love of his life in 1941. His career included working at Columbia Studios as a Set Designer but the majority as a Mechanical Engineer/Tool Designer in the aircraft industry. He was instrumental in the design of many military fighters, bombers and commercial airliners. He retired from Northrop Aircraft Company in 1982 but continued to consult. He spent his retirement in Las Cruces, NM and Summerfield, FL.
Services will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fayetteville, Saturday, August 13th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL the following week.
