Al Rivas' Obituary
Mr. Al Rivas Jr., 76 of Springdale, AR passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in Fayetteville, AR. He was born June 18, 1933 in Canton, OH to Alonzo and Elvie (Cincata) Rivas.
He was a retired steel worker as well as retired from the Washington County Road Department and a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Rivas, brother Joe J. Rivas and his great grandson Hunter Ray Ross.
He is survived by one daughter; Peggy Hampton of Springdale, AR, one son John Rivas of Springdale, AR, one brother; Frank Rivas of Fontana, CA, four grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 2, 2009 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville .
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 3, 2009 at 12:30 PM in Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Randall Galloway officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fayetteville Veteran’s Home or to the Patriot Guard Riders.
