Albert L. Gartside

Mr. Gartside was one of my favorite teachers in Jr. High School. He caused me to have an interest in science that I have kept through the years.
I lost my dad Minter L. Fielding last summer. I know how much you miss Your dad. It doesn't seem to get less.

I believe the school year was '70-'71. Mr. Gartside was my 7th grade science teacher at Siloam Springs Junior High. His was a very interesting class, and he helped to nurture my interest in the sciences. He was a very good teacher and a very nice and personable man.

Dear Brian, Phil, & Families,

Barb and I just received notice of your dad's passing and wanted to send our condolences along. We have been neighbors down the road for the past 13 years and live next door to where Marion and Arti Fielding used to live. We remember seeing your mother walk down the road almost daily and were aware of your father's deteriorating condition. Although we didn't see them often, they were always warm and friendly neighbors. Barb and I trust that God will bring comfort and peace to you and yours in the midst of grief.

My thoughts are with you both today, since I just now learned of the passing of your father. He was a key teacher in my life, since he helped to foster my life-long interest and use of science. He was my 7th & 8th grade Science teacher. My sympathies to you both are amplified by the awareness that you lost your mother only four weeks earlier. You are experiencing a similar double-loss to what I went-thru in the summer of 2007: my father passed on July 1st, the morning after we celebrated my parents' 61st anniversary. My mother passed on July28th, only 27 days later. So, I know that you both are going through a difficult time now. But you should be consoled by knowing that your parents were wonderful people, who touched so many people in the Rogers community in a positive way. I wish you the Best.

Many memories come rushing through my mind of days at Northside with Mary and days at Sourhside when Al drove a bus. For years I saw them every day. They have a special place in my heart. A special memory, too, is the day I lost my coin purse going to the Homecoming Parade in the days when teachers went with the children and stayed with them. One of you found it and returned it. There wasn't much money in it, but it was a lot to us then. Thank you again.
