Alexander "Sandy" Hamilton's Obituary
Alexander "Sandy" Hamilton, age 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2020, in his hometown of Fayetteville. He was born on September 16, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna, and his brother Joseph.
After graduating from Culver Military Academy in Culver, Indiana, Sandy served in the U.S. Army Security Agency as a Russian translator. Following his military service, Sandy earned a B.A. from Indiana University, and a master’s degree from Clarion University in Clarion, Pennsylvania.
Sandy served in several executive marketing positions in the food products industry before founding Image Builders LLC with his wife, Donna Hamilton in 2002. Sandy and Donna were prolific figures among Fayetteville business owners and civic leaders, organizing and leading fundraising and community events.
Sandy was a kind, fun-loving, sociable citizen, and a faithful member of Trinity Fellowship Assembly of God Church. He lifted spirits everywhere he went and was an eternal optimist.
He is survived by sons, Robert (Cassandra) Strom, David (Debi) Strom, Matt (Kimorie) Strom, and Grant (Ericka) Hamilton, and his daughter, Amelia Hamilton, and further survived by his sister, Lynda. He was affectionately known as PawPaw to his grandchildren April, Kenneth, Erin, Rhonda, Chris, Joseph, Alexander, Madeline, Charlie and Nicolas; and great grandchildren, Desirea, Noah, David, Henderson, Eli, Ruby, Rhys and Holden.
Sandy will be honored at the end of Sunday morning service at Trinity Fellowship Assembly of God Church on June 28, 2020. A celebration of his life will be held that afternoon and details about the time and location will be shared immediately following the church service.
