Alice A. Garrett's Obituary
Alice A. Garrett, age 92, of Springdale, Arkansas, passed away on January 30, 2026, in Springdale. She was born on November 7, 1933, to Ora Scott and Gracie Tucker.
Alice was a devoted mother of eight who lived her life for her children and family. Her life was rooted in her faith, and her devotion to Christ guided every season of her journey. Alice had a deep knowledge of the Bible and could recite Scripture with ease, often sharing verses from memory as a source of comfort, wisdom, and encouragement to those around her. She was known for her sharp, infectious sense of humor and her ability to bring laughter into any room. Alice was also an incredible cook, and her meals were an expression of love that brought family and friends together for generations.
She was preceded in death by husband Kenneth Garrett and her son, Ronald Carnell.
She is survived by her four daughters, Wanda Houston (Jim) of St. Charles, Missouri, Mona Carnell of Matthews, Missouri, Kathy Fausett (Mark) of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Cindy Raben Redmond (Clyde) of Fayetteville, Arkansas; three sons, Rick Carnell of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Don Carnell of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Randy Carnell (Vonda) of Jackson, Missouri; along with 23 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 3, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 4, at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, 1000 North Gutensohn in Springdale, with Pastor Clark Snow officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Comfort Cemetery in Fayetteville.
