Alice Marie Arnold's Obituary
Alice Marie Tow Arnold, age 95 of Fayetteville died Monday, January 9, 2012 in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born September 6, 1916 on a farm in Benton County, Iowa the daughter of Leah Melberg and Emmet Tow. After graduating from high school, she attended Iowa State Teacher’s College, where she met and married Gene Arnold. They made their home in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where they raised four children. After the death of her husband in 1988, she moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas to be near her family.
Alice is survived by her three children, Kay Heaton of San Luis Obispo, CA, Judy Hazen of Fayetteville, AR, and J.R. Arnold of Fayetteville, AR. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James Arnold, M.D., who died following a plane accident in 2002, her 2 sisters, Maxine Tow and Arlene Kadesch, and her brother, Don Tow.
Alice was that rare person who was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She walked with her faith. She possessed the purest of hearts: kind, loving, patient, and wise. A lifelong learner, Alice was an avid reader. She was blessed with an extraordinarily curious mind with which she was able to pursue her many interests. Nothing, however, gave her more joy than spending time with her family, who will all miss her dearly.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, January 13, 2011 at Butterfield Trail Village with Chaplain Chuck Bengston officiating.
