Beautiful lady, Great Friend, My sincerest condolences to the Odom Family
I met Your mom playing bridge with Billie Jo, whom I’d recently taken a bridge class from. She seemed delightful and classy. My sympathies go out to you, Conrad, your children and sisters. You are in my thoughts and prayers. It is tough losing two parents so close together. My love to all
Dear Conrad, Jennifer, and Holly,
I remember your mom fondly and send my sincere condolences to each of you and your families.
With love,

I remember the calm strength that Lana exhibited when I stayed over at the Odom’s. She seemingly effortlessly juggled teenagers, home life and social events. When Conrad and I came in late after a FHS game night, Lana would always be waiting up, reading in bed: happy to see us home and not at all bothered if we were late.
Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of "Miss" Odom. She was my 4th grade teacher at Scott Elementary. I remember her as a kind and gentle teacher who carried herself with grace and dignity. My thoughts and prayers to the family.

We have talked about Lana a lot today, not with sadness but with incredible joy and laughter at the fifty plus years of memories we shared. There is a wooden sign at the driveway that points right and says Odom and points left saying McGuire. It has been there since 1976. We have felt like family, neighbors, and most importantly friends. Conrad, Jennifer, Holly- We loved your Mom and will cherish these amazing memories forever. Love, Billie Jo, Melinda, Cheryl and Donell.
As a young mother and homemaker, Lana taught me so many things. She inspired me to garden and to experiment with less common plants which I continue to enjoy every day. She continuously impressed me with her creative touch in her beautiful home, and I made many mental notes that I still remember and employ today. I learned from Lana to appreciate even more than I already did the value and importance of antique furniture. She inspired me to smock dresses, to cook outside the box and to appreciate the beauty of simplicity in meal presentation. She was ahead of her time in "cooking fresh" and "farm to table." And she gently and politely taught me many things about playing a hand of bridge. She always looked so effortlessly put together as did everything she touched. As our children grew up and the bridge group quit playing, I missed seeing her as often as I had during those years. We haven't connected in several years, but I will never forget our friendship then and the positive impact it made on me when I was much younger. Larry and I send our love to Conrad, Jennifer and Holly and may God be with each of you in the coming days.
