Alicia D. Graue's Obituary
Alicia D. Graue, age 72, of Rogers passed away Tuesday September 10, 2024 in Bentonville. She was born December 23, 1951 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Ivan and Gladys Morene (Jones) Mabry. She is a member of First Baptist Church in Bentonville. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Jessica Graue Leibig and her sister, Carol Graham.
Alicia was raised on a farm, and grew up in 4H Club, where she rose to be President of the Washington County 4H Club and represented Arkansas in the national 4H convention in Washington DC.
Alicia was a graduate of Springdale High School class of 1970. She attended the University of Arkansas, then worked at First National Bank while her husband attended school.
Alicia was married to J. Michael (Mike) Graue on June 26, 1971. They were married 53 years.
Alicia and Mike moved to Tulsa, where she worked for Lloyd Richards Personnel Agency and Mike worked for a drilling company, which transferred him to Brazil. She loved living in Brazil and embraced the culture and people there. Alicia became close friends with the Baptist missionaries, and quickly became a “missionary to the missionaries”. After living in Brazil, Alicia and Mike returned to Northwest Arkansas, where she was a substitute teacher, and eventually worked in several positions in personnel at Walmart for 13 years. Alicia was a “People Person”, who was a loyal friend to many and had a real gift of serving others. She was a great cook that was envied by many.
Alicia had a beautiful soprano voice. She used to sing on the radio on Sunday mornings as a young girl. She took opera lessons from a University of Arkansas professor in her early teens. She was a member of the Madrigal group at Springdale High School. She enjoyed singing in the choir at First Baptist Church in Bentonville and was an occasional soloist.
She is survived by her husband, J. Michael Graue; her son, Joshua Graue and his wife Maricar of Lowell; one brother, Roger Mabry of Springdale and two grandchildren, Olivia Marie Graue and Hunter Otis Graue; many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be 10:00 am – 11:00 Saturday September 21, 2024 at First Baptist Church Bentonville. Memorial service will be 11:00 am Saturday at First Baptist Church Bentonville under the direction of Nelson Berna Funeral Home in Rogers.
