Alvin Wesley Young's Obituary
Alvin Wesley Young, age 89, of Fayetteville passed away Sunday January 21, 2018. He was born June 25, 1928 in Lincoln, Arkansas to William and Zula McCarty Young. He retired from the US Navy. He taught metal shop at the Fayetteville West Campus and taught electrical engineering at the University of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his wife Winona Young; two sons, David and Steven Young; one sister, Opal Slaughter and one brother, Calvin Young. He is survived by his nephew, Tommy Slaughter and his wife Mara of Rogers, Arkansas; three daughters in law, Jennifer Young, Anita Young and Mary Glasscock; eight grandchildren, Jeanette Dalton, Rachel Ake, Siobhan Davis, Katie McCratic, Kristina Walden, D.J. Young, Wesley Young and Curtis Sulffridge; eight great grandchildren, Klair Walden, Jazzmyn Walden, Danny Walden, David Walden, Cole Ake, Delaney Ake, Azzlynn Sulffridge and Dalean Wesley Young. Visitation will be 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Wednesday January 24, 2018 at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday at Moore’s Chapel with burial to follow in the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
