Anthony S. Leto's Obituary
Anthony S. Leto age 87, of Springdale returned to his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 20, 2008. He was born on August 21,1920 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Sebastian and Phillipa (Bondi) Trupiano. He graduated from West Allis Central High School In June of 1940. He was then hired by the West Allis State Bank where he began his 35 year banking career. When World War II began, he joined the army. He served in the 347 Regiment of the 87th Infantry Division where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and the Fight to cross the River Rhine. He received the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, World War II Victory Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, First Award Honorable Service lapel button, Expert Badge with Carbine Bar, and Sharp Shooter Badge with Rifle Bar. He returned home when the war ended and back to his banking career. He continued in the banking industry for 35 years, rising from Safe Deposit Clerk to Vice President. He retired in 1975 and moved to Springdale to join his sister and brother-in-law in running the Ice Cream Parlor in Evelyn Hills. In later years, he went to work for Wal-Mart, where he spent 19 years in sporting goods. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Springdale, AR.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy Leto, and 5 children: Kathy Farrar, Laure Lawson, Anne Trupiano, Nancy Miller, Tony Leto and "Special K" Kim Norris. Sons-in-law: Ken, Jim, Steve, and Randy. Grandchildren: Matt and Courtney Groves, Joey and LaRissa Sabatini, Wally and Sara Burns, Vanessa Bagwell and Josh Erskin, Susannah Farrar, Cara Leto and Brian Lloyd, Andrew Gundlach and Tina Pence, Josie Farrar, John Farrar, Ashley Miller, and Fernando Norris. Great-grandchildren: Jackie and Jacie Sababtini, August Burns, and Taylor Lloyd. Sister-in-law: Midge Kjol, and Brother-in-law: Burnard Burke, and many nieces and nephews.
Tony was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He loved the Lord and showed it by the way he treated others. He will be greatly missed.

Memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 206 West Johnson Avenue, Springdale, AR on Monday, February 25th at 6:00 PM. The Reverend Judy Van Hoose officiating.
