Lt Col. Anthony Alexander Palumbo's Obituary
Anthony A. Palumbo, Sr., age 88, of New Orleans, Louisiana died Tuesday, August 19, 2003 in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born November 16, 1914 in Rochester, New York the son of Savario and Lucia Diamato Palumbo. He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Purple Heart and a Silver Star for gallantry in action during WWII.
Survivors include three sons, Samuel R. Palumbo of Meridian, Idaho, Anthony A. Palumbo, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, Albert A. Palumbo of New Orleans, Louisiana, one daughter, Patty Thomas of Fayetteville, Arkansas, one brother, Arthur Palumbo of Foley, Alabama, three sisters, Virginia Lombardi , Amelia Manuse, and Edith DeNapoli all of Rochester, New York, seven grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 23, 2003 at St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, Louisiana. Burial, with military honors will follow at 3:00 P.M. in St. George Cemetery in Baton Rogue, Louisiana.
