ARCHIE E. STOKES
Archie E. Stokes, 83, of Springdale, died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at his home.
He was born August 2, 1928 in Keo, Arkansas, the son of John and Mittie Peggram Stokes. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra; his parents; two brothers and one sister.
He was a retired auto mechanic at Hatfield Cadillac and enjoyed landscaping and working with his hands.
He is survived by his wife Glenda; two sisters, Callie Hamilton of Biscoe, AR and Minnie Bell Bishop of Corning, AR; a granddaughter, Svana Stokes of West Fork; two brothers-in-law, Lawan Sipes of Ft. Smith, AR and Ray Sipes of Goshen; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Meyer of Douglas, MI; Pat Sipes of Goshen and Evelyn Hughes and her husband R. C. of Ozark, AR; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at First Southern Baptist Church in Goshen, officiating will be Pastor Randall Galloway and Mike Hughes.
Cremation was by Moore’s Chapel.
