Argus C. 'Shorty' Barens' Obituary
Argus C. "Shorty" Barens, 80, of Sonora, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2008 in Springdale. He was born January 30, 1928 in Fallsville, Arkansas the son of Oliver E. and Nellie (Rhodes) Barens. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all whom knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-two years; Martha Barens, his parents, three brothers; Tony, Buford and Keelan Barens, three sisters; Walsie Perry, Juneta Bollinger and Irene Blair.
He is survived by four children; Judy Bowen of Alma, Arkansas, Ronnie Barens of Witter, Arkansas, Alvin Barens of Springdale, Arkansas, Barbara
Clifton-Hackwith of Springdale, Arkansas, five sisters; Laneta Campbell of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Delva Montag of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Artibell Burton of Elkins, Arkansas, Wilma Robinson of Springdale, Arkansas, Frances Byrd of Springdale, Arkansas, thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 20, 2008 in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with Reverend Johnny Case officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM in the Belt Cemetery in Ozark, Arkansas.
Visitation will be 9:00 AM till 9:00 PM, Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the funeral home.
