Artemus R. Davis Jr.'s Obituary
Artemus R. Davis, Jr, age 91, of Fayetteville, AR, passed from this life Thursday, September 24, 2020. He was born February 24, 1929, in Crow Agency, Montana a son of the late Ray Davis and Mary Pitsch Davis. Artemus was a Korean War veteran, served 1948-1957 in the U.S. Navy; was a civilian contractor for the Department of the Navy from 1957 until retirement in 1979, when he moved from Albany, Georgia to Fayetteville, Arkansas. He met his wife of 65 years Kay Davis (née Elam) in Washington, DC at an Arthur Murray dance class in 1954; he loved to dance, loved to laugh and was a longtime member of Christian Life Cathedral.
Survived by his wife, Kay; daughter, Margie Colburn (Patrick) of Omaha, Nebraska; three grandsons – Brennan Welch and Patrick Welch of Foley, Alabama, and Jace Guerra (Berry) of Omaha, Nebraska; one great-granddaughter, Luna Guerra, of Omaha, Nebraska; sisters Alva Wise of Chiloquin, Oregon; Barbara Hays of Billings, Montana; Leona Molina and Sharon Rexroad of Hardin, Montana; brother Chuck Davis of Emmett, Idaho; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, at Christian Life Cathedral by Nelson Berna Funeral Home.
