Athlea Lorene Renegar's Obituary
Athlea Lorene Renegar, 81, of Fayetteville, AR, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021. She was born December 28, 1939 in Hot Springs, AR, and she lived most of her life in Hot Springs. She moved to Fayetteville in 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Renegar, of Hot Springs. She is survived by son Charles Renegar and his wife Judy of Murfreesboro, TN; son Henry Renegar and his wife Jefferie of Fayetteville, AR; and daughter Neletha Renegar of Fayetteville, AR. She is also survived by four grandchildren and their families: Allison Cooley of Murfreesboro, TN; Joseph Renegar of McMurdo Station, Antarctica/Vancouver, WA; Daniel Renegar of Bothell, WA; and Matthew Renegar of Murfreesboro, TN.
Athlea loved her family and caring for her family was the joy of her life. She also loved her friends and she loved to take care of her home and her flower gardens. She worked in the Retail industry for 32 years, and she always enjoyed working with people. She loved her God, and she is enjoying the beauty and rest of heaven now.
Athlea passed away after an extended battle with Covid-19. The family sincerely thanks the doctors, nurses, and staff of Washington Regional Medical Center for their care and compassion during her illness. They all worked tirelessly to take care of her. Thanks also to the staff at Katherine’s Place at Wedington for their care over the past 3 years.
A memorial service will be held in Hot Springs, AR later this year. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International at gideons.org or to the Washington Regional Foundation at wregional.com/foundation.
