Austin Binks Lafferty's Obituary
Austin Binks Lafferty, 25, born on June 20, 2000, to Scott and Loretta (Mullins) Lafferty in Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away on March 11, 2026, in Rogers, Arkansas. Austin will forever be remembered and loved by his family and friends.
Austin graduated from Har-Ber High School, Class of 2019; graduated from the University of Arkansas, Class of 2023, as an Honors College Student with a major in Supply Chain Management and minor in Information Systems and was employed at Unilever in Newark, New Jersey until his illness. Austin was known for his high character and excellence.
He was the most incredible son, brother and friend that anyone could ask for. We are grateful that we were chosen to be his parents, even though we are incredibly heartbroken that his time here was too short. He always brought his best. He represented Christ to near perfection. He was the kindest, most humble, extremely thoughtful, amazingly generous and loving person that I have ever known.
He also had a great sense of humor, infectious smile and the very best laugh. God, how I will miss his laugh. Rarely did he not have a smile on his face, and he always brought us great joy just being in his presence. Austin was an amazingly courageous warrior during his battles. He never asked for pity. He was incredibly strong physically, emotionally and spiritually through everything. He fought the good fight and never complained. He always praised God, thanked Jesus and was grateful for his blessings.
I want him here. I need him here. He was better than we could ask for. He was amazing in all aspects of his life. He would have been a great husband and the best father, and he would have brought more light into this world that desperately needs it. His mother and I will miss him until our final breaths, but I am believing Austin will be there waiting to give us “bone-crushing hugs” as he called them with his beautiful smile and big blue eyes when we do see him again.
Austin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas Binks and Patsy Lafferty and Tommy and Alice Mullins; and his Aunt Caroline Keller. He is survived by his parents, Scott and Loretta; sister, Haley Miller (Jared) and their son, Bennett; brother, Ian Lafferty; paternal uncles, Alan and Brad Lafferty; maternal aunts and uncles, Lisa Westmorland, Teresa Booth, Tommy, Donny, and Danny Mullins.
More treasured to me than the air that I breathe. No, you were to stay and someday I'd leave. I don't want to stay here without you to grieve. No, you were to stay and someday I'd leave! I've no understanding why or how this can be, my sweet son's in Heaven so soon before me.
Please post your favorite memories of Austin or write them in a letter for us to have and cherish.
