Biography
Banford Raye Mitchell, Sr. age 70 of Fayetteville, Arkansas died Saturday, December 3, 2011 in Fayetteville. He was born August 13, 1941 in Bemis, Tennessee, the son of James L. and Sybil Elizabeth Jackson Mitchell. He was a graduate of Lipsomb University, retired from Traveler’s Insurance, and a member of Mt. Comfort Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Ritta W. Mitchell of the home, two sons, Dr. B. Raye Mitchell, Jr and wife, Elise of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Anthony Judd Mitchell and wife, Sara of Nashville, Tennessee, one brother, William R. Mitchell and wife, Kathy of Trenton, Georgia, two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Anderson and husband, Mike of Portland, Tennessee, and Jane E. Cunningham of Lebanon, Tennessee, and five grandchildren, MacKenzie Mitchell, Jackson Mitchell, Grant Mitchell, Luke Mitchell and Mia Mitchell.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM, Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Mt. Comfort Church of Christ with Mr. Nathan Jorgenson officiating. Private burial will be in the Fairview Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to7PM, Tuesday at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.
