Barbara Jean Profilet Newbury's Obituary
Barbara Jean Profilet Newbury, 87 of Fayetteville, AR formerly of Helena, AR passed away Friday, May 27, 2022 in Rogers, AR. She was born May 26, 1935 in Cairo, IL to Curtis and Margurite (Walder) Profilet.
She is survived by two daughters, Marty Riddell and husband Darrell of Fayetteville, AR, Maria Hrdina and Lubos of Hot Springs, AR, one son, David “Tony” Newbury of Moline, IL, eleven siblings; Pat Sullivan (Johnny D.), Marge Harper, Janet Burkstaller, Martha Ellen Lankeit,, Kay Wild, Sara Lancaster (Pat), John Profilet, Donna Profilet, Jim Profilet(Debbie) Ginny Ponting(Todd), and Emilie Martin (Kris)and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Curtis Grantham (Amanda), Ryan Grantham, Emily Nealey (Travis), Miles Newbury, John Newbury, Nick Newbury, Jason Harcourt (Callie), Amelia Spradlin (Adam), Robert “Beau” Hicks, and Matthew Riddell her Great-Children Alexa Jordan, (Ryan), Clinton Grantham, Collier Grantham, Lily Grantham, Chloe Harcourt, Amelia Cates Spradlin, Claire Nealey and Baby Spradlin, and Great-Great Grandchild Baby Jordan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved daughter Amelia Elizabeth “Amy” Newbury, a sister, Mary Ann Eblen and a brother Robert “Bob” Profilet.
She was a member of the Catholic Church. She retired from Helena Marine Service after 35 years. Barbara loved to crochet for family and friends. She loved the Arkansas Razorbacks, and traveling, and nature watching. She enjoyed talking to people of all ages and was affectionately known as “Mema” to not only her Grandchildren but others as well. Her kindness and smile will be remembered by many.
A Mass will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 1st at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayetteville. Graveside burial services will be held in West Helena, AR.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
