Barbra Lee (Toms) O'Neal's Obituary
Barbra Lee (Toms) O’Neal, 75, of Fayetteville, AR, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2023.
Barbra was born on August 11, 1947, to Marvin and Lorene Toms in Berryville, AR. Upon graduating from Fayetteville High School in 1965, she went on to study English and Business at the University of Arkansas.
In 1970, Barbra married Don M. O’Neal, and together they have two children, Jeffery and Jennifer.
Barbra worked as an executive assistant in Banking, Insurance, Medical, Legal, and Retail Operations, completing the College of Financial Planning’s Paraplanner program in 1988 and Arkansas Bankers Association Trust School in 1989.
In 2001, Barbra fulfilled her goal of becoming a real estate agent where she earned both the Arkansas Realtors Association Million Dollar Real Estate Award and the Harris McHaney Realtors Shining Star Award.
Barbra aspired to be a creative writer with a focus on books for children, often stopping to jot down story ideas and opening lines.
Barbra’s greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed music and dancing, walking, traveling, her pets, shopping, gardening, and caring for her granddaughters. Full of class, style, and grace, Barbra had a radiant smile that would fill any room.
Barbra is survived by her children, Jeffery O’Neal and Jennifer O’Neal and grandchildren, Josephine O’Neal and Maxine O’Neal, as well as her twin brother, Roger Toms and sister, Marvey Toms, all of Fayetteville, five nephews, three nieces, and a great niece and nephew.
Memorial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local animal shelter or charity of your choice.
