Bartley "Bart" Cleve Stewart's Obituary
Bartley (Bart) Cleve Stewart, resident of Springdale Arkansas, left his earthly home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 19, 2023. Bart was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on July 12, 1950, to parents Audrey Sutton Stewart and Raymond Stewart. He is preceded in death by his parents and older sister, Brenda Stewart Sanders.
Bart was a 1968 graduate of Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He attended Louisiana State University before entering the workforce as an outside salesman for the Lanier Corporation where he had a successful career for many years. After an early retirement, Bart enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, gardening, cooking, watching college football, and especially fishing with his lifelong friend, Ron Smith, at his lakeside home in Clinton, Louisiana.
Bart is survived by his loving wife, Linda Carpenter Stewart, son, Matthew Stewart (wife Rachel), step-daughter, Samantha Cooksey Clinton (husband John). He is also survived by four beautiful grandchildren, Elliot, Emmett, Avery, and Carter, as well as his beloved sister, LaJuanah Stewart Wallace (husband Wayne). Bart’s surviving family also includes a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, Friday, February 24, 2023, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home of Rogers. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM with interment at Elm Springs Cemetery.
