The entire club was saddened to hear of the loss of your wife. It must be terrible to loose your best freind of 62 years. We all miss you and think of you often. If you ever visit Madison, stop in and see us.

I WAS BENWARD'S TRAVEL AGENT FOR MANY MANY YEARS IN MADISON WISCONSIN. GENE (AND BRUCE) WERE A VERY SPECIAL CLIENTS AND FRIENDS. WE HAD MANY FUN TIMES PLANNING THEIR SPECIAL FAMILY TRIPS. I WILL TRULY MISS GENE.

Words cannot express how much I will miss Gene. She was, at all times, kind and generous to me -- a great friend in the truest sense. I learned so much from her and will be ever thankful that she was part of my life. I loved Gene dearly and will miss her immensely. Please accept my sincere condolences.
Our sincerest condolences on the death of Gene. We'll always remember her as a vibrant, witty, funny, intelligent and warm person. We have sent a contribution to the Botanical Gardens Society of the Southern Ozarks in her memory.

In the time that i got to know Ms. Benward, i found that she was a really sweet lady to be around, her passing came as a shock to me for she will be dearly missed. my prayers go out to the family.
I remember a well trod path between our houses and many hours of playtime with Tammy, Nadia and Cindy, probably at the expense of our parents' peace and quiet. Our thoughts, prayers and love are with you.
We have been friends of Bruce and Gene since about 1950. We will miss her very much.

Your wonderful laugh will be with us forever. Your holiday decorations on the ceiling in Madison left a lasting impression on this young artist.
