Berniece Marie Boyett's Obituary
Berniece “Bebe” Boyett, 93, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, at Promenade Rehab Facility.
Born May 28, 1932, in Bear Grove Township, Fayette County, Illinois, Berniece was the youngest of four children born to Frank and Myrtle Dotray of Mulberry Grove, Illinois. A true farm girl at heart, she left rural life after high school for the city lights of St. Louis and Kansas City, where she worked various jobs until fate stepped in just two days before Valentine’s Day 1961. There she met Gene W. Boyett; the couple married soon after at Community Christian Church on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri.
Berniece poured her heart into supporting Gene through school and raising their family in Russellville, Arkansas, where they made their home for many years. After Gene’s death in 1994, she moved to Northwest Arkansas to be closer to her son and his growing family. It was here, surrounded by loved ones, that she spent her later years doing what brought her joy—writing poetry, painting, crocheting, and spoiling her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Bebe.”
Berniece was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 33 years, Gene W. Boyett; her parents, Frank and Myrtle Dotray; sisters, Norma Hastings and Gladys Yaeger; and brother, Willis Dotray.
She is survived by her son, Jay Boyett and daughter-in-law, Mandy, of Rogers; and her cherished grandchildren, Benton Boyett and Sybeal Boyett, both of Rogers.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville or All Saints Episcopal Church in Russellville.
Bebe lived a full and loving life, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and devotion to family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
