Bessie Collura's Obituary
Bessie Collura, age 100, went home to be with the Lord on September 1, 2012 in Springdale. Bessie was born on December 23, 1911 to Willis and Nettie Anderson Combs.
Bessie was a devoted wife and mother and loved doing for others. Her favorite times were spent gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Her love of life and beautiful spirit will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by two husbands: Elwood Tucker and Joe Collura; three sisters and four brothers.
She is survived by a son, Gary Collura; grandson Joe C. Collura, granddaughter Crystal Collura and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 3 at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Moore’s Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the charity of choice or online to the Jimmy Valvano Foundation.
The family would like to thank Circle of Life Hospice, Brookstone, and North Hills for the wonderful care she received. We are also appreciative of all the family and friends who came to surround her with love in her last days with us.
