Betty Ruth Agnew's Obituary
Betty Ruth Agnew, of the Whitehouse Community in Fayetteville, went to see Jesus, and her husband on their anniversary, on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 86 years old. She was born in the Whitehouse Community of Fayetteville, Arkansas, on April 29, 1939, to Carie Essic and Lela Virginia (Eubanks) Fields. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack Earl Agnew, and her sister Ming Toy Fields.
Betty was a member of Sulphur City Baptist Church, where she was the Worship Leader for 45 years. She also served many years as a Sunday School and VBS teacher at her church. She was married to her husband Jack Agnew for 56 years and served as a military wife during his time in the service. She was a caregiver to many people at the end of their life’s journey, including her own parents and many other family members in the community. She was a loving wife and mother, and friend to all who knew her. She will be missed by those who love her.
Betty is survived by her children, daughter Deanna Auslam and husband Tim, son Carie Agnew, and daughter Gini Traxler and husband Tim; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brothers Bill Fields and wife Wanda, and Rex Fields and wife Patty; sister Dawn Curtis-Pendry and husband David; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.
Funeral service will be Friday, June 27th, at 12:00 PM at Sulphur City Baptist Church, with graveside to follow at Fayetteville National Cemetery at 1:30 PM under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
