Betty Ann Fields' Obituary
Betty Ann Fields, age 88, of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. She was born on January 20, 1938, in Aurora, Illinois, to Leon Reding Sr. and Helen Purdue.
Betty was the strong and hardworking matriarch of the family who raised her four children and supported them with unconditional love. Her generosity and care extended far past her immediate family, always willing to help anyone in need. Betty also had a special love for animals, known for taking in and caring for countless stray cats throughout the years.
Betty was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Fayetteville. Her Catholic faith guided her throughout her life, and she faithfully prayed the Rosary every day.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Cheryl Johnson; her sons, John Fields and Glenn Fields; her sisters, Hazel Klein and Marilyn Ruby; and her brother, Leon Reding Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Melody Moubarak and husband Ali of Fayetteville; her sister, Millie Smith of Fayetteville; and her six grandchildren, Evan, Jasmeen, Tamara, Eugene, Jeremy, and Tommy, along with many great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends who will miss her greatly.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville. A Funeral Mass will be held at a later date.
