Mrs. Betty was a true southern mama. I only had the joy of knowing her for six years and it was clear how caring she was.
She referred to my oldest as her "curly haired boy". She let him con her out of dollars in her purse. I still remember her holding my youngest when she was a baby and loving on her. She was quick to tell me tips about raising babies and it was clear she had life experience taking care of others.
My children were delighted by the duck outside Mrs. Betty's home. Mrs. Betty fed the duck and it stuck around. Mrs. Betty's duck lives on in their childhood memories.
I will miss hugging her neck and her awesome smile! She will be remembered fondly by many, especially me and my family.
